INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHEULING HEARINGS:

To schedule a hearing, it is preferable to contact the Judge's office by phone at 850-595-4351 or you may send an email to the judicial assistant at susy.carlson@flcourts1.gov copying all counsel of record.  Hearing requests are processed in the order in which they are received.  Please include the following information in the email or have ready when scheduling by phone:  the case number, the title of the motion to be heard and the amount of time needed for the hearing.

INSRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSED ORDERS:

Proposed orders may be submitted to the Judge’s assistant at susy.carlson@flcourts1.gov with a cover letter.  If the order is the result of a particular hearing, please reference the hearing date in the order and in the cover letter.

CROSS-SETTING OR "PIGGY-BACKING" HEARINGS:

When a hearing is initially scheduled, the time set aside for the original motion is deemed to be sufficient for that matter only.  Adding additional motions is not possible unless there are no objections by opposing counsel/parties to doing so and adequate additional time is available.  Judge Miller will not hear motions which have not been properly scheduled and noticed.  Cross-noticing a motion upon another party's time is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

TRIAL/HEARING NOTEBOOKS, EXHIBITS AND CASELAW:

Trial/Hearing notebooks, exhibits and caselaw must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to hearing.  If proposed exhibits/cases exceed a total of 20 pages, paper copies are required and must be mailed/delivered directly to the Judge's office.  Please plan accordingly so that any exhibits being mailed/delivered will arrive at least 48 hours prior to the hearing.
