Child Support Enforcement (CSE)

The First Judicial Circuit employs Child Support Enforcement Hearing Officers to conduct hearings to establish, modify and enforce orders for child support. The Hearing Officers are attorneys appointed by the Chief Judge of the circuit, under the authority granted by the Florida Supreme Court.  The Hearing Officers conduct hearings in family law cases that have cases with the State of Florida, Office of Child Support Enforcement. The Hearing Officer issues recommended orders that are reviewed and signed by a Circuit Judge.  These recommended orders are based on the evidence presented under oath, along with consideration of Florida Statues and case law, and the Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure.  Administrative Orders governing Hearing Officers and the CSE Court Program can be found under Administrative Orders on our website.

For more information regarding Support Enforcement Hearing Officers, please see Florida Family Law Rules of Procedures section 12.491.  Note:  Section 12.490 relates to General Magistrates, and does not apply to Hearing Officers.
